TBS announced it will televise Sunday’s matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, with first pitch set for 12:10 p.m. PT. However, the broadcast will not be available in the local Milwaukee and L.A. markets.
Brian Anderson and Ron Darling will provide commentary for the regular season finale. SportsNet LA will also carry Sunday’s game, with Joe Davis expected to be back in the booth after testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) last week.
The Dodgers dropped two of three in their only series against the Brewers at American Family Field earlier this season. Both teams have already clinched postseason berths, although in L.A.’s case, it still remains to be seen where they end up in the bracket.
The Dodgers enter play Saturday still trailing the San Francisco Giants in the National League West standings.
Should the Dodgers fall short of winning their ninth consecutive NL West title, they would host the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wild Card Game on Wednesday, Oct. 6. TBS will exclusively broadcast the one-game playoff, with first pitch set for 5:10 p.m. PT.
As for the Brewers, they clinched the NL Central last week and will take on the Atlanta Braves in the NL Division Series. It marks their second division title in the last four years and fourth consecutive playoff appearance.
The earliest the Dodgers and Brewers could meet in the postseason is the NL Championship Series. It would be a rematch of 2018, when L.A. defeated Milwaukee in seven games to advance to their second consecutive World Series.
The Dodgers more recently swept the Brewers in the best-out-of-three NL Wild Card Series during the 2020 postseason.
Wainwright starting for Cardinals in NL Wild Card Game
In the likely event the Dodgers play in the NL Wild Card Game, they would be tasked with facing longtime Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright, who is in the midst of his best season since 2014.
The 40-year-old would be matched up with Max Scherzer unless he starts in a potential Game 163 against the Giants.
