The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a 5-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians in their final road game of 2024 Spring Training. Overall, the Dodgers have just two more Cactus League games remaining before leaving for South Korea.

Bobby Miller pitched into the fourth inning before being removed from his third start of the spring. Miller allowed six hits and four runs (three earned). One of the runs scored after Miller exited the game, and he finished with two strikeouts.

Monday’s game was the first time Miller allowed an earned run all spring and his first start with more than one strikeout.

Miller’s pitch count was impacted by Gavin Lux’s throwing error after fielding a routine grounder in the first inning. That came hours after Lux explained his troubles this spring have been more about missing all of 2023 than having a problem with throwing to first base.

Later in the game, Lux and Chris Taylor had miscommunication and inexplicably watched a pop-up drop in front of second base for an infield single.

Next for Miller is starting one of the Dodgers’ exhibition games in South Korea.

The Dodgers lineup was held in check for most of the day, with the exception being Teoscar Hernández collecting a single in each of his first two at-bats.

L.A. managed to avoid being shut out when Kiké Hernández drew a two-out walk in the sixth inning and James Outman followed with an RBI double.

Teoscar Hernández and Outman were responsible for three of the Dodgers’ five hits.

Dodgers on-deck

Next for the Dodgers is Tyler Glasnow making his final tuneup of Spring Training. Glasnow last pitched in a ‘B’ game at Camelback Ranch and now faces the San Francisco Giants ahead of his Dodgers’ Opening Day start.

Glasnow is likely going to start the Dodger Stadium opener on March 28 as well.
