Coming off a 5-1 loss to the Oakland Athletics, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to get back in the win column as they host the Seattle Mariners at Camelback Ranch. Friday’s meeting is the first of two between the teams over the next seven days.

Making his third Cactus League start for the Dodgers is Ross Stripling, who has yet to allow a run this spring. He has tossed three scoreless innings, yielding just two hits with two strikeouts.

Stripling was efficient in his last outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks, retiring six of the seven batters he faced. The right-hander wasn’t concerned with facing a divisional rival in Spring Training and believes it served as a good test for the regular season.

The Mariners counter with Nick Margevicius, who enters his first season with the organization after being claimed off waivers from the San Diego Padres in January.

The right-hander went 2-6 with a 6.79 ERA, 5.64 FIP and 1.61 WHIP in 57 innings as a rookie last season, making 12 starts while appearing in 17 overall games.

In two Cactus League outings thus far, Margevicius has allowed three runs on five hits with five strikeouts across 3.2 innings of work. He faces a Dodgers lineup that originally included Mookie Betts in the leadoff spot.

However, he was scratched due to an upset stomach, and replaced at the top by Max Muncy. Justin Turner is back two days after being hit by a pitch in his left hand/knuckles area; X-rays were negative. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts also hoped to have Chris Taylor in the lineup, but he remains on the mend from a sore left shoulder.
