As SportsNet LA remains at an impasse with pay-TV providers for rights to carry the exclusive Los Angeles Dodgers network, they announced a schedule of 10 games that will simulcast on KTLA 5 during the 2019 regular season.
The agreement calls for KTLA to also televise SportsNet LA’s flagship pregame show, “Access SportsNet: Dodgers,” prior to each simulcast. This marks a fourth consecutive season and fifth overall in which SportsNet LA is making games available on the local station.
This season’s simulcast schedule includes weeknight and weekend games, including two National League Championship Series rematches with the Milwaukee Brewers. Simulcasts also include matchups with the San Francisco Giants, Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs.
SportsNet LA is entering their sixth season and despite the Dodgers making back-to-back World Series appearances, there’s yet to be a break in the television stalemate. There was an investigation into alleged collusion, but AT&T reached a settlement with the United States Justice Department.
Fans who wish to receive 24/7 coverage of the Dodgers are encouraged to switch to Spectrum, as other distributors are not expected to carry the channel by Opening Day of the 2019 season.
