Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts took solace in the team not beating themselves Saturday night and still being in position to come away with a series win against the Colorado Rockies. A loss Sunday would mean the Dodgers drop their first series of the season.

L.A. is a win away from matching the franchise record for avoiding a series loss in 14 opportunities to begin a season. The Rockies last won a series at Dodger Stadium from June 29 to July 1, 2018.

Julio Urias gets the start in the rubber match with Colorado, as he looks to build on an impressive outing. Each of Urias’ starts this month are under a microscope as the postseason nears and a decision on a rotation comes with it.

Though, the young left-hander said that’s not on his mind and he would accept any October role the team sets for him. “Right now it’s just focusing on every outing,” he said.

“I’ll focus on the next outing, I’m going to show up and work hard. Whatever decision they make with the playoffs, I’ll respect it. It’s something that’s out of my control. The only thing I can control is try to stay healthy and let them make those decisions.”

Urias enters 3-0 with a 3.27 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in seven starts this year. However, Sunday’s start is his first time pitching on regular rest; it’s also a first for any Dodgers starter this season.

The Rockies counter with Ryan Castellani, with the rookie facing the Dodgers for the first time in his young career. Castellani is 1-2 with a 4.81 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in six games (five starts).

Mookie Betts is receiving a night off, and with a break in the schedule Monday, is poised to receive a bit of extra rest. Gavin Lux is tasked with filling Betts’ shoes in the leadoff spot of the Dodgers lineup.
