The Los Angeles Dodgers received timely contributions at the plate from Julio Urias, Cody Bellinger and AJ Pollock en route to a comfortable 9-2 win against the San Francisco Giants in Game 2 to split the National League Division Series thus far.

Kevin Gausman exploited much of the same weaknesses as Logan Webb did the night prior, but an intentional walk of AJ Pollock with two outs in the second inning wound up proving costly. It put two on for Urias, who had a career day with the bat during a game at Oracle Park in May.

Urias delivered once again, floating an RBI base hit into right field to give the Dodgers their first run of the NLDS. Mookie Betts followed that with an RBI single that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 2-0 before Gausman could get out of the inning.

The Giants answered back when a leadoff walk on a borderline pitch was cashed in by Donovan Solano’s sacrifice fly.

San Francisco threatened again in the fourth inning when Betts got turned around in right field and was left without a play on Buster Posey’s fly ball that dropped for a leadoff double. Urias responded by retiring the next six batters faced.

The Dodgers rewarded him by breaking the game open in the sixth inning behind consecutive two-run doubles from Cody Bellinger and AJ Pollock. Prior to those extra-base hits, Bellinger and Pollock were a combined 0-for-9 with seven strikeouts in the NLDS.

The Giants scored a run off Joe Kelly in the bottom of the sixth, but the inning could have been much worse for L.A. Trea Turner made a diving stop on a grounder up the middle to get a force out, and Brandon Crawford’s RBI single also led to the inning ending on a strong throw from Betts to third base.

L.A. created more separation in the eighth inning on a leadoff home run by Will Smith, and RBI singles from Matt Beaty and Corey Seager.

Dodgers hosting two NLDS games

With their win, the Dodgers guaranteed Dodger Stadium will host two NLDS games — with the first coming Monday night at 6:37 p.m. PT. Game 4 is then set for Tuesday, with first pitch at 6:07 p.m.

Andre Ethier is throwing out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Game 3.
