After winning two of the three games at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers head back to Miller Park with a 3-2 lead over the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series.
The Dodgers send left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound in Game 6, looking to clinch a World Series berth for the second straight season.
Ryu was limited to 15 starts in 2018 due to a groin injury, but he was outstanding when healthy, going 7-3 with a 1.97 ERA, 3.00 FIP and 1.01 WHIP with 89 strikeouts and 15 walks in 82.1 innings.
He has also be good so far in the postseason, giving up 10 hits and two runs in 11.1 innings while striking out 12 without allowing a walk. He started Game 2 of the NLCS at Miller Park and only lasted 4.1 innings, but kept his team in the game by giving up six hits and two runs with four strikeouts and one walk.
The Brewers also send a southpaw to the mound in Wade Miley, who is starting his second consecutive game of the series. Miley got the ball in Game 5 on three days of rest, but he only faced one batter, walking Cody Bellinger, before being removed in favor of right-hander Brandon Woodruff.
The move was a bit of gamesmanship from Brewers manager Craig Counsell, although more of the same is not expected in Game 6 as Miley will likely make a more conventional start.
Overall in 16 starts during the regular season, Miley went 5-2 with a 2.57 ERA, 3.59 FIP and 1.22 WHIP with 50 strikeouts and 27 walks in 80.2 innings.
He has dominated the Dodgers so far in 2018 as he has not given up an earned run against them in 18.2 innings combined between the regular and postseason. He also has been phenomenal in the postseason to this point, tossing 10.1 scoreless innings while allowing just five hits and two walks while striking out five.
The Dodgers look to continue keeping likely NL MVP Christian Yelich in check. He is slashing just .150/.292/.150 without an extra-base hit or RBI in the series.
After starting the postseason just 1-for-21, Cody Bellinger has begun to get going offensively. He is 3-for-7 with a walk in the last two games, one of which was a walk-off single in the 13th inning to lead his team to victory in Game 4.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts made some changes to his lineup again, putting first baseman David Freese in the leadoff spot. He has been there just three times in his Major League career.
