The Los Angeles Dodgers have been highlighted by Nike through various shoes over recent years, including with a Jackie Robinson Dunk that was released to commemorate his 75th anniversary of breaking MLB’s color barrier.

Now on deck is the Nike SB Dunk Dodgers, set to release at select Los Angeles skate shops on Friday, and through SNKRS on Saturday via a draw process. This weekend’s launch of the Dodgers Dunk comes several weeks after some boutiques received the highly-anticipated shoe.

The blue and white design takes inspiration from Dodger Stadium as well by incorporating its famed palm trees and welcome sign on the back of the tongues. The front of the tongue and heel of the shoes has red detailing, in an ode to the color of Dodgers jersey numbers.

The Dodgers Dunk is part of an MLB-inspired capsule from Nike that also included the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants.

Previous Nike releases for the Dodgers were two versions of a Cortez shoe, and Jackie Robinson Day version of the Air Griffey Max 1.

In 2020, Nike became the exclusive provider of MLB on-field uniforms, including baselayers, game-day outerwear and training apparel. With that came a new initiative of City Connect uniforms for teams, which have been unveiled and implemented in waves.

Meanwhile, the SB Dunk comes on the heels of the Dodgers breaking the franchise wins record that previously was 106, and shared by the 2019 and 2021 teams. The Dodgers became the first team in MLB history with three consecutive full seasons of at least 106 wins.

They also are the first to ever improve upon 106 wins from the season prior.
