The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) recently announced Nichol Whiteman was promoted to chief executive officer (CEO) of the organization, and Chaitali Gala Mehta was elevated to a role as chief operating officer (COO).

The changes come as a result of the tremendous growth experienced by the foundation over the past several years. Whiteman previously held the position of executive director of the LADF.

In five years in that capacity, Whiteman led efforts to launch Dodgers RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities), a youth development program serving over 10,500 youth today; helped spearhead the annual Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala, established a grants program and increased fundraising by 1,000 percent.

Also under Whiteman, the LADF completed a 15-year promise last September by unveiling the 50th Dodgers Dreamfield. During the special ceremony she revealed the charity’s plan and commitment to reaching 75 dreamfields by 2033.

The target date and 75 total fields was selected to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the team’s move to Los Angeles.

In her role as COO, Chaitali will provide oversight and strategic guidance in the areas of operations, finance, grantmaking/philanthropy and special projects. Chaitali will also continue assisting with efforts for the Blue Diamond Gala.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, which was founded in 1955, places a focus on Sports + Recreation, Education + Literacy, and Health + Wellness. The Foundation donated $1.6 million in grants to local nonprofit organizations in 2018.
