The Los Angeles Dodgers Nike City Connect jersey was officially unveiled, with the look more of a complete uniform with blue pants and specially designed cap. As the Dodgers are poised to debut their new threads on Friday, it will be accompanied by Dodger Stadium murals.
To highlight the spray-paint accents on the sleeves of the “Los Dodgers” jersey, the team worked with local artists Jonas Swyer, Fernando Valdez Zamora, Michelle Ruby Guerrero, Hector Arias, Chris Corona and Michael Villanueva Matugas to bring the city’s street art culture to Chavez Ravine with murals on the left and right field loge terraces.
The murals were featured throughout the Dodgers’ City Connect launch video, which was by narrated actor, director and producer Edward James Olmos.
Fans can visit and take photos in front of the Dodger Stadium murals beginning Thursday night.
As for the City Connect uniform, they were additionally designed to explore the Dodgers’ connections to Los Angeles and its personalities, values, customs and traditions. They jersey further helps commemorate this season being the 40th anniversary of ‘Fernandomania.’
This will mark the first time in franchise history the Dodgers have worn a blue jersey and pants.
“The Dodger uniform is an iconic part of the franchise’s identity. While our traditional look has and will always be worn by the franchise-great players, the City Connect program offered us the opportunity to recognize the impact and importance of our multicultural fanbase,” Dodgers executive vice president and chief marketing officer Lon Rosen said in a statement.
“We’re excited to debut these City Connect uniforms on the field and know our fans will enjoy seeing ‘Los Dodgers’ on the uniforms as well as our new murals, which bring Los Angeles’ street art culture to Dodger Stadium.”

The Nike Dodgers City Connect Jerseys are available Thursday through Nike’s official app and website, their @NikeDiamond’s Instagram shop, MLBShop.com, MLB Flagship Store (NYC) and select retail locations.
Dodgers City Connect merchandise will be available at Dodger Stadium stores starting Friday.
