The MLB offseason historically is a time for players to get married as it represents the only significant down time in the calendar for them, and this year that applies to Mookie Betts and Caleb Ferguson.
The left-hander was first to tie the knot, as Ferguson and his fiancée Carissa Darnell held their wedding in Ohio on Saturday. Up next are Betts and Brianna Hammonds, who are days removed from assisting the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) at a Thanksgiving event.
With his wedding on the horizon, Betts took to social media and asked Dodgers fans to assist with picking a hashtag.
The options Betts provided for his impending nuptials were between “#HomeRunLove,” “#MookieBettsOnBri” and “BettsOnLove.”
Betts and Hammonds have been together for 15 years and have a daughter. The couple met while in middle school and Betts proposed this past January.
Betts joined Dustin May, Brusdar Graterol and Ferguson as Dodgers to get engaged last offseason. Corey and Madiysn Seager, Will and Cara Smith both had their respective weddings shortly after the 2020 World Series.

The 29-year-old was at the front of the drive-thru line the LADF set up at Algin Sutton Recreation Center and was accompanied by Hammonds along with his mother.
“You’ve got to remember where you came from. For me, I came from an area like this in Nashville,” Betts said from the site of the first and 50th Dodgers Dreamfields. “I finally got to my spot in life where I can give back, and you never know whose day you can affect.
“I do anything and everything I can to help out … This is like my home now. You’ve got to help your hometown. I’m going to be here for a long time, and really I’m just here to help anyone.”
