Although several notable players have already been moved, Tuesday’s 1 p.m. PT non-waiver trade deadline may still see plenty of activity. For the Los Angeles Dodgers, they’ve regularly been connected to pitchers, particularly relievers.
The latest name to crop up was Brad Ziegler of the Miami Marlins. It was previously reported the Dodgers and Marlins had early trade talks on Kyle Barraclough, Adam Conley And Drew Steckenrider.
Additionally, the Dodgers were recently said to have scouted Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays relief pitchers. Although Ziegler may be a point of interest for Los Angeles, it’s the Chicago Cubs who are nearing a trade for the right-hander, per MLB Network’s Jon Morosi:

Though, Morosi then reported a trade may not be imminent:

Ziegler got off to a rough start as Marlins closer, which led to him being removed from the role. He’s been improved as a setup man, especially of late.
In his last 28 appearances, Ziegler has pitched to a 0.64 ERA with 22 strikeouts and 11 walks over 28 innings of work. He had a 7.88 ERA through his first 25 games.
Overall in 53 games this season, Ziegler is 1-5 with a 3.98 ERA, 4.59 FIP and 1.27 WHIP.
