The Los Angeles Dodgers announced another global partnership agreement with AFEELA, a new automotive brand created by the joint venture of Sony and Honda.
As a part of the agreement, the 2024 AFEELA electric vehicle prototype will be at Dodger Stadium for fans to view in an on-site activation during select home games remaining this season.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with AFEELA, the brand from Sony Honda Mobility Inc.,” Dodgers executive vice president and chief marketing officer Lon Rosen said in a statement.
“The AFEELA prototype is an impressive feat of technology, and we are so glad that Sony Honda Mobility chose Dodger Stadium as the first sports venue in the world to display their uniquely designed prototype. It’s a powerful validation of the Dodgers’ platform for supporting new product launches and driving brand resonance efforts across key priority markets.”
Creepy Nuts concert
AFEELA also is going to sponsor the first performance in the United States by the popular Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts. They’re scheduled to perform at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, July 20, before the Dodgers host the Boston Red Sox in a 4:15 p.m. PT start time.
Creepy Nuts, formed by rapper R-Shitei and the 2019 DMC World DJ Champion DJ Matsunaga, made its debut in 2017 as a part of Sony Music. One of their latest songs, “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” became Creepy Nuts’ first No. 1 single on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, which it topped for 13 consecutive weeks after it released January 7.
The song, which serves as the opening theme for the second season of the anime series “Mashle: Magic and Muscles,” climbed as high as No. 8 on the Billboard Global 200.
Dodgers, AFEELA make history
The Dodgers and AFEELA are combining to make history with the first unveiling of the electric vehicle prototype at a sporting event anywhere in the world.
Sony Honda Mobility Inc., established by Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Co., Ltd in September 2022, aims to pursue innovation in mobility with a new line of electric vehicles.
AFEELA features advanced sensing technology, noise-cancelling cabin, spatial audio, automated parking and AI driving assistance that will “expand the possibilities of mobility even further.” Pre-orders for the sedan will begin in 2025 with deliveries set to arrive in North America in the spring of 2026.
