Although he is no longer a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers after signing a one-year contract with the Boston Red Sox, Justin Turner is still giving back to the Southern California community.
For the fourth annual Justin Turner Day in Los Angeles, a celebration is set for Sunday, January 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dream Center. The Justin Turner Foundation is organizing a day-long event highlighting and supporting the wonderful work he and his wife Kourtney do for the communities and families surrounding Chavez Ravine.
Fans interested in attending are asked to RSVP before Sunday morning.
While the event centers around humanitarian needs across varying areas of importance, highlights include a mobile blood drive to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, ‘Be the Match’ bone marrow swabbing, Dodgers giveaways, and donations acceptance for the Justin and Kourtney Turner Food Bank.
Additionally, scheduled events on the day include Wags & Walks being on had with rescue pups from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., and AM 570 host David Vassegh for a radio remote ‘Dodgers Talk’ broadcast from 10 a.m.-11 a.m.
Beyond the event on Sunday, Turner is also hosting the seventh annual Justin Turner Golf Classic on Monday, February 6.
With a focus on support for homeless veterans, children (and their families) battling life-altering illnesses and diseases, and youth baseball organizations, Justin and Kourtney Turner began their foundation in 2016 and have remained committed to helping L.A. communities ever since.
For their continuous charitable work, the City of Los Angeles declared January 22 as Justin Turner Day in 2019.
Those unable to make Sunday’s event but still looking to contribute can do so by purchasing items from the Justin Turner Foundation’s Amazon wish list.
Justin Turner wins 2022 Roberto Clemente Award
