Along with their continued celebration of Vin Scully during Vin Scully Weekend at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday are hosting the final La Gran Fiesta Viva Los Dodgers of the 2016 season.
Per usual, the festivities are taking place at the iconic 76 station inside Dodger Stadium. Auto gates will open at 1:30 p.m. PT, with autograph sessions beginning at approximately 2:10 p.m.
Jose De Leon and outfielder Yasiel Puig are among those scheduled to appear. So too are Kiké Hernandez, famed scout Mike Brito, Hall of Fame broadcaster Jaime Jarrín and his son Jorge, and Ron Cey and Mickey Hatcher, among others.
Viva Los Dodgers will also feature entertainment by Cuba Swift Salsa dancers, El Conjunto Nueva Ola, Jungle Fire and Mariachi Sol De Mexico de Jose Hernandez.
A Dodgers player will select a fan in attendance at La Gran Fiesta to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Then prior to Saturday’s 6:10 p.m. start, a mariachi performance will take place on the field by Mariachi Sol De Mexico de Jose Hernandez, who will also perform the national anthem.
The early-afternoon celebration may serve as a precursor for Los Angeles clinching a fourth straight National League West division title. The Dodgers enter play Saturday night with their magic number at two.
Clayton Kershaw is taking the mound for Los Angeles, who need help from the San Diego Padres in their game against Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants. Of course, the Dodgers could just as well take care of matters themselves and wrap up the division on the homestand by sweeping the Colorado Rockies.
