When Bruno Mars began the first leg of his “24K Magic World Tour,” he also released merchandise that closely mirrored what the Los Angeles Lakers wore during their days playing at the Great Western Forum.

That tied in nicely with Mars’ use of ’24’ for his smash single and also when his tour rolled into the Forum for multiple concert dates. During those shows, Mars discussed always envisioning himself performing at the historic venue.

While the Forum is synonymous with the Lakers, and Mars’ tour merch resembled the team’s jerseys, he also has a keen sense of the Dodgers and their franchise history.

During a recent stop on his tour, Mars wore a Mike Piazza retro jersey, as seen in a photo he shared on Instagram:

Earlier this year, Ed Sheeran paid homage to Justin Turner by donning his Dodgers jersey while performing “Shape of You” as an encore and to close out a performance at Staples Center.

Turner used the hit single as his walk-up song for much of last season, and after learning Sheeran wore his jersey, invited him to visit Dodger Stadium. Considering Piazza’s contentious relationship with the Dodgers, there likely won’t be a similar offer extended.
