The Los Angeles Dodgers wrap up their four-game set against the Miami Marlins with a chance to win the rare wraparound series after taking two of the first three games.

However, their task was made more difficult when the club announced Tony Gonsolin, Monday’s scheduled starter, was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain. To take his place, the Dodgers recalled Michael Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start the series finale.

Grove has made one start in his career, which came earlier this season on May 15 against the Philadelphia Phillies. He pitched 3.2 innings and gave up four runs (zero earned) on four hits while adding three strikeouts and three walks.

The 25-year-old right-hander made another appearance on June 1 as a reliever against the Pittsburgh Pirates and allowed three runs, all earned, on three hits in one inning of work.

Overall, Grove has pitched to a 5.79 ERA at the Major League level and in 17 Minor League starts between Double-A Tulsa and Oklahoma City, has a combined 3.48 ERA to go along with 78 strikeouts.

The Marlins send Pablo López to the mound as he looks to build on his last outing against the Oakland Athletics, where he went six innings with no runs allowed.

The 26-year-old right-hander was the subject of trade rumors this year, which included the Dodgers showing interest, but in his last seven starts he has pitched to a 6.00 ERA in 36 innings.

Despite his recent struggles, López is still a highly talented pitcher. Across 140 innings, he has pitched to a 3.66 ERA with a 3.72 FIP while striking out 23.7% of hitters and walking 7.3%.

Mookie Betts is out of the Dodgers lineup for a scheduled day off after hitting home runs in three consecutive games. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he is trying to balance getting the superstar enough rest and making sure he keeps his hot bat in the lineup.

Trea Turner is still in the lineup after being hit in the head by a pitch on Sunday. He remained in the game and said he was fine after the incident.
