The Los Angeles Dodgers snapped their three-game losing streak on Monday and now look to clinch a series win against the San Francisco Giants in a matchup against former teammate Alex Wood.

In facing a left-hander, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had already pre-determined it would be an off day for Max Muncy. Roberts stuck to the plan despite Muncy slugging two home runs in the series opener, one of which was a grand slam.

Muncy on the bench means Chris Taylor slides over to third base. Miguel Rojas starts at shortstop for only his second game since returning from left groin tightness.

Both players are looking to find more success at the plate. The Dodgers lineup as a whole aims to provide run support for Dustin May in his third start of the season.

May enters 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and nine strikeouts across 13 innings pitched.

May is a career 2-0 with a 0.79 ERA in four games (two starts) against the Giants. Both of those wins have come at Oracle Park, where May has made two appearances (one start).

As for Wood, his start against the Dodgers the left-hander’s second of the year. Wood pitched just three innings in his 2023 debut and allowed three runs (one earned) in the no-decision.

Wood went 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in three starts against the Dodgers last season. He was particularly hamstrung by the home run ball, surrendering four to L.A. in 14.2 innings pitched.

Along with Wood, the Dodgers face fellow 2020 World Series champion Joc Pederson. He’s
