After being quieted by Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcántara in the second game of their series at loanDepot Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to rebound in an early Sunday start that is streaming for a national audience on Peacock. First pitch is set for 9:05 a.m. PT.
Jason Benetti is handling play-by-play duties for the MLB Sunday Leadoff game, and he’s being accompanied by analysts Dontrelle Willis and Tommy Hutton. Willis famously pitched for the Marlins during his career and now is a Dodgers analyst on SportsNet LA. Hutton played for the Dodgers and is a current Marlins analyst.
As for matters on the field, Julio Urías makes his 25th start of the season. Despite only allowing one run, the left-hander is coming off his first loss since June 12, which ended a stretch of going 10-0 over 11 starts.
Urías did not face the Marlins last week during their visit to Dodger Stadium. He enters the Sunday matchup with a 13-7 record and 2.36 ERA that is third-best in the National League.
The Marlins counter with Edward Cabrera, who made his MLB start last season. Cabrera is 4-1 with a 1.41 ERA and 0.97 WHIP over seven starts this year.
Cabrera allowed five runs to the Houston Astros on June 12, but since then has turned in four consecutive scoreless outings. Included in that was Cabrera tossing eight scoreless innings last week for the best start of his career.
Gavin Lux returns to the Dodgers lineup after missing four consecutive games due to neck pain.
