Dodgers Video: Yasiel Puig Throws Out Trevor Story At Third Base

Coors Field lived up to its hitter-friendly reputation early on Friday night in the three-game series opener between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies. Making his 2016 regular season debut, Rockies right-hander Jon Gray endured his share of lumps in the first inning.

Chase Utley opened the game with a triple to center field, which was followed by a Corey Seager two-run home run to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. Then with one out, Adrian Gonzalez crushed a solo home run to the second deck in right field.

The Rockies answered back with one run in the second inning, and took the lead in the fourth behind a Nolan Arenado solo home run and Ryan Raburn’s two-run homer. The Dodgers jumped back out ahead in the fifth, with Gonzalez delivering in a two-out, bases loaded situation by slapping a two-run single to left field.

With one out in the bottom half of the inning, Trevor Story drove a Scott Kazmir pitch off the newly-raised fence in right field. Yasiel Puig had yet to make an impact at the plate, but he recovered from his failed leaping catch to throw a strike that nailed Story attempting to leg out a triple:
