The Los Angeles Dodgers reached the endpoint of their six-game road trip on Sunday as they faced the Colorado Rockies in the rubber match of a three-game series. The Dodgers jumped out to an early lead as Jordan Lyles struggled with his command.

After Alex Wood drove a run in on a fielder’s choice, Yasiel Puig extended the Dodgers’ lead with a two-run double to left field. It had already been an eventful series for Puig prior to that point, as he threw a strike that traveled over 300 feet to nail Trevor Story on his attempt to leg out a triple.

The Dodgers carried a 7-1 lead into the bottom of the fourth, but Colorado began to cut into their deficit with plenty of help. Trayce Thompson badly misjudged a fly ball to left field, resulting in a two-out RBI double for Gerardo Parra.

After DJ LeMahieu drew a walk, Howie Kendrick overran a Chris Rusin (Rockies reliever) bunt, resulting in another run coming across. Brandon Barnes nearly added to the Rockies inning, only to be robbed of an RBI and extra-base hit by Puig, who made a catch while crashing into the right field wall:
