The 2016 season has not been a kind one for Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, as the 25-year-old has dealt with hamstring injuries, trade rumors and most recently, a demotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Additionally, after being demoted Puig was again the subject of controversy when he posted a story to his Snapchat account of him and several Oklahoma City teammates dancing, singing, and drinking on a party bus after a third consecutive loss.
However, since the incident both Puig and the team have played their best baseball. Entering play on Tuesday, Oklahoma City is 8-5 in their last 13 games, which included a six-game winning streak.
What’s more, OKC currently is in first in the American Northern division of the Pacific Coast League.
On Monday they defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs (Miami Marlins affiliate), 7-0, behind seven shutout innings from Jose De Leon.
Puig was a big part of the offensive outburst, as he went 2-for-5 with a home run. The home run, via Oklahoma City’s official Twitter account, was Puig’s fourth in 13 games since being demoted:

Overall, Puig is batting .417/.472/.750 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in 48 at-bats. Despite the success he has had recently, there hasn’t been talk of him being called back up to the Major League club.
Instead, it was reported that the Dodgers are attempting to give Puig away, though selling low would go against how the front office has operated to this point.
It’s believed the Atlanta Braves would have interest in claiming Puig if he were to be placed on waivers.
