The weekend series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees was not only a battle between a pair of World Series contenders, but two of the most iconic franchises in baseball.
It was the Dodgers’ first trip to Yankee Stadium since 2016, and the three-game set more than lived up to the hype. Each matchup had an announced sellout, with Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton among the stars on display.
There was a large contingent of Dodgers fans in the Bronx thanks to traveling group Pantone 294, who organizes multiple trips to opposing stadiums every year. The group also made their presence felt during the Dodgers’ previous visit to Yankee Stadium in 2016 with a roll call.
A flood of Dodgers fans celebrated the team’s extra-inning win on Friday, and more than 5,000 fans showed up for Saturday’s blowout victory.

While the weekend set between the Dodgers and Yankees had all the makings of a World Series preview, Blake Treinen largely downplayed the significance of the series.
On the flip side, Teoscar Hernández and Kiké Hernández both enjoyed the atmosphere and likened it to an October game. The two combined to make MLB history in Saturday’s win at Yankee Stadium.
