While the Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a 10-7 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night, they finished the game with some momentum. After falling behind, 10-0, Los Angeles scored seven unanswered runs. The Rockies were forced to call on Greg Holland in the ninth inning.

Where as the Dodgers were hurt by the Rockies mounting a five-run rally with two outs in the second inning of the series opener, the tables were turned Friday night. Chase Utley opened the scoring with a sinking line drive to right-center field that got by Charlie Blackmon on his diving attempt.

The two-run triple gave the Dodgers an early lead. For Utley, the triple was his second in as many games.

While Utley was thrown out on his attempt to score on Clayton Kershaw’s bunt, the Dodgers were hardly done in the inning. Joc Pederson connected for an RBI double, leaving two runners in scoring position with one out.

Tyler Chatwood’s troubles continued, as Corey Seager followed with a two-run double down the left-field line. The five-run outburst was it for the Dodgers until the eighth inning, when Cody Bellinger connected for a team-leading seventh home run this season.

Kershaw tossed seven innings of two-run baseball, and was backed by Luis Avilan, Pedro Baez and Kenley Jansen.
