The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of a three-city, nine-game road trip, and thus far have enjoyed plenty of success. Los Angeles took two of three from the Atlanta Braves, then swept the New York Mets at Citi Field.
That completed the Dodgers’ first season sweep of the Mets in franchise history. Following the series opener, Puig paid a visit to the MLB Networks Studios in New Jersey. Puig discussed the origins of his batting stance, approach at the plate, and more with the analysts.
Several Dodgers took advantage of any spare time over the weekend to explore New York, and Puig was among them. One of his ventures took a bit of a twist, however, as a fan spotted Puig seated in the back seat of a taxi.
The fan ran alongside the car, sprinted ahead of it and one point, and ultimately was rewarded for his efforts. Puig shared a video of the exchange on his Instagram account:
The Dodgers spent Monday traveling as they begin a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Tuesday. Los Angeles not sits atop the National League West standings, but they also boast the best record in the Majors.
Puig’s production with the bat and stellar defense in right field has been instrumental to the Dodgers’ success this season. So much so that manager Dave Roberts recently said he believed the 26-year-old was having the best season of his young career.
