Playing their final home game of the regular season, the Los Angeles Dodgers left a lasting impression in a 10-0 rout of the San Diego Padres to complete a series sweep. Rich Hill finished with 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings, and also helped his cause with an RBI single.

Hill’s base hit was part of the Dodgers scoring at least one run off Clayton Richard in each of the first three innings. They exploded for four runs in the third, jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the process.

While the game was well in hand, Curtis Granderson and Corey Seager put the finishing touches on the Dodgers’ win by clubbing back-to-back solo home runs in the seventh inning.

Granderson was not in the lineup but entered in the bottom of the first as a pinch-runner for Chris Taylor, who injured his knee while slipping on first base. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and Taylor each downplayed any concern over the matter.

The home run was Granderson’s seventh since joining the Dodgers. For Seager, it was his second home run in as many games, and 22nd this season. He’s battled a sore right elbow of late and though there’s been a drop in production, Seager maintained it has not impacted him at the plate.

Seager said he simply was working toward finding his rhythm after missing some games and being limited to pinch-hit duty.
