While the Los Angeles Dodgers have been stop-and-go for much of the 2016 season, the young trio of Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Trayce Thompson have become quite the driving force. They share a house with Ross Stripling and Alex Wood, though the pitchers are lagging behind in roommate popularity.

That’s not so much an indictment on Stripling and Wood as it is a testament to the production Pederson, Seager and Thompson have provided on a regular basis. From May 15-17, one of the three produced a multi-home run game.

Seager was first do it, slugging his homers against the St. Louis Cardinals. Thompson followed suit the next evening, and Pederson the game after. Seager and Thompson homered in the Dodgers’ 4-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Friday night.

However, it was Seager who stole the show in the first of a six-game homestand. The 22-year-old shortstop slugged his first solo home run on the night in the fourth inning to cut the Braves’ lead in half.

Thompson then tied the game with an opposite-field solo shot in the fifth. Seager connected for his second solo home run off Julio Teheran in the sixth inning to give the Dodgers a 3-2 lead.

With that lead still intact, Seager tagged Braves left-handed reliever Hunter Cervenka for his third solo home run, which warranted a curtain call:

The three-home run game was the first of Seager’s career. He’s the first Dodgers rookie with a three-homer game since Don Demeter did it April 21, 1959, when the club was still playing at the Coliseum.

What’s more, according to Elias Sports Bureau, Seager is the sixth-youngest player in Major League Baseball history to have a three-home run game.
