The Los Angeles Dodgers went into their lone off day of 2024 Spring Training with a 7-4 win against the Colorado Rockies. With the victory the Dodgers improved to 6-0 at Camelback Ranch in Cactus League play this year.
In the third game of the Dodgers lineup featuring Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman, the former MVP winners quickly made their presence felt.
Each of them singled in their first at-bat, with Freeman’s base hit bringing Betts in to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. Sacrifice flies from Will Smith and Max Muncy extended that to 3-0 in the first inning.
The vaunted trio got the better of Rockies pitching again in the second inning as Betts’ one-out double was followed by Ohtani hitting an RBI triple off the wall in center field. Ohtani then scored when Freeman reached on a throwing error.

Ohtani collected another RBI on his base hit in the third inning and Max Muncy represented some of the length in the Dodgers lineup by leading off the fourth with a home run. Muncy was playing in a second consecutive game since taking a day off after being hit by a pitch in his left hand.
Betts, Ohtani and Freeman went a combined 7-for-9 with five runs scored, four RBI, one double and one triple.
Dinelson Lamet’s Dodgers Spring Training debut
Signed to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Spring Training, Dinelson Lamet made his Dodgers debut in the ninth inning.
He only retired two of four batters faced against his former team before being removed due to a high pitch count.
