SportsNet LA is taking a look back at the nine years Justin Turner spent with the Los Angeles Dodgers during a special episode of “Access SportsNet: Dodgers” at 8:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday night.
Host John Hartung will be accompanied by former Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti, Jerry Hairston Jr. and David Vassegh.
Over his nine seasons with the Dodgers, Turner hit .296/.375/.490 with 235 doubles, 156 home runs and 574 RBI across 1,075 games. He became a two-time All-Star, leader in the clubhouse and community, and is the Dodgers all-time leader in hit by pitches.
“I don’t think many kids are dreaming about holding that record,” Turner told DodgerBlue.com of passing Zack Wheat for the Dodgers record of being hit by a pitch. “But I don’t think I’m catching anyone on the Dodgers home run list.”
Turner’s career arc with the Dodgers was all the more impressive as it came on the heels of being non-tendered by the New York Mets following the 2013 season.
Along with the individual accolades, Turner’s best highlights with the Dodgers include hitting a walk-off home run against the Chicago Cubs in the 2017 National League Championship Series, making a diving tag and throw for a key double play in the 2020 NLCS matchup with the Atlanta Braves, and reaching 100 home runs with the franchise.
Beyond contributions on the field, Turner and his wife Kourtney became pillars in the community as well. They established the Justin Turner Foundation and tirelessly worked to provide for children and families in need.
That culminated with Turner receiving the prestigious 2022 Roberto Clemente Award, which he gave credit to Kourtney for winning.
In March 2019, the couple and Justin Turner Foundation were added to the Spotlight Wall at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and January 22 has been declared Justin Turner Day in the city of Los Angeles.
Turner will face his former teammates when the Dodgers play the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park from Aug. 25-27, 2023, as part of MLB’s transition to a balanced schedule format.

Colletti, who was responsible for the Dodgers signing Turner to a Minor League contract in 2014, shared a heartfelt message about the 38-year-old and Kourtney for all they accomplished while in L.A.
