For the last several years, one of the biggest strength in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization has been outfield depth throughout all levels.

That has taken a bit of a hit this winter though as two Major League starting outfielders, Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp, were traded to the Cincinnati Reds.

With Spring Training just around the corner, Los Angeles has begun replenishing that depth with some Minor League signings, the first of which was former Tampa Bay Ray Shane Peterson.

It looks like the Dodgers added another outfielder to the mix as they have also signed former Kansas City Royals outfielder Paulo Orlando to a Minor League contract, via Michael Mayer of Metsmerized:

Orlando has appeared in MLB games in each of the last four seasons with the Royals, hitting .263/.289/.384 with 14 home runs and 81 RBI in 918 plate appearances. He was a member of the 2015 team that went on to win the World Series.

Orlando’s best year came in 2016 when he received extended playing time and batted .302/.329/.405 with 24 doubles, five home runs, 43 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 128 games.

The 33-year-old spent a majority of the 2018 season with Triple-A Omaha. In 75 games, he hit a respectable .270/.319/.467 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI.
