In the time after the Los Angeles Dodgers won their first World Series since 1988, the organization has been closely monitoring the condition of Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda, who has been hospitalized.
The team announced on Nov. 15 that Lasorda had been admitted to the intensive care unit but was resting comfortably. No other details have been provided and the family requested privacy on the matter.
Lasorda recently was said to have been moved out of the ICU and there was hope he would be home in time for Christmas. That didn’t come to fruition but the 93-year-old reportedly was still improving.
As that continues to be the case, those close to Lasorda are hopeful he will soon be released from the hospital, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network:

Lasorda was in Texas to watch the Dodgers defeat the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 6 of the World Series, though it’s unclear if that travel is related to the hospital stay.
The former manager has now been hospitalized a fourth time since 2016. The first instance was in August of 2016, then again in May and October of the following year. The incident in May 2017 also required time in the ICU. Additionally, Lasorda suffered a mild heart attack while in New York for the 2012 MLB Draft.
Lasorda’s managerial career with Dodgers
Lasorda led the Dodgers to four National League pennants, two World Series and finished with a 1,599-1,439 record. He was named National League Manager of the Year in 1983 and 1988, and has maintained ties to the organization for 70 years as either a player, coach, scout, manager, executive or special advisor.
