An offseason that began with the Los Angeles Dodgers linked to multiple prominent free agents has unfolded as a relatively quiet one for the franchise.

Manager Dave Roberts suggested there would be more roster turnover this winter than compared to years past, yet thus far all it’s amounted to is Rich Hill and Hyun-Jin Ryu leaving the Dodgers in free agency.

As for the position-player side, the Dodgers have been linked to a potential trade for Mookie Betts and David Price, as well as a possible deal to acquire Mike Clevinger and Francisco Lindor.

L.A.’s only additions to their Major League roster have been signing Jimmy Nelson and Alex Wood to one-year contracts. They also are said to have inked Edubray Ramos to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Spring Training.

According to baseball insider Robert Murray, the Dodgers additionally have signed Bradley Gonzales to a Minor League deal as well:

Gonzales began his collegiate career at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, then transferred to Central Arizona College before finishing at Dallas Baptist University in 2018. The right-hander only appeared in nine games for Dallas Baptist, pitching to a 9.64 ERA with 11 strikeouts against eight walks over 9.1 innings.

Gonzales figures to spend the 2020 season pitching in the lower Minors as he works to return to the sport.

His ascension from Driveline Baseball is the latest in their success stories. The training academy has continued to grow in popularity as more players turn to data-driven approaches. Wood recently cited offseason work with Driveline as one factor behind his optimism for the 2020 season.

The Dodgers have additionally hired coaches away from Driveline over the past few weeks.
