Not long after reinstating Corey Knebel from the 60-day injured list, the Los Angeles Dodgers also added Conner Greene to their active roster on Tuesday and optioned Zach Reks to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The Dodgers now have 13 pitchers and 13 position players on their active roster.

Greene enters the mix one day after the Dodgers claimed him off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. The right-hander allowed six runs in 3.2 innings over three appearances fprior to getting designated for assignment this past Saturday.

Greene — a Santa Monica, California native — was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the seventh round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

The three games Greene pitched in for the Orioles this season was his first time in the Majors. He went 1-3 with a 7.39 ERA in nine games (three starts) with the Orioles’ Triple-A affiliate.

The 26-year-old adds a fresh arm to a Dodgers bullpen that has lost Jimmie Sherfy, Edwin Uceta, Jimmy Nelson, Victor Gonzalez, Darien Nuñez, Garrett Cleavinger and Joe Kelly for a variety of reasons this month.

Sherfy was transferred to the 60-day IL and won’t pitch again this season, Nelson is undergoing Tommy John surgery and a right flexor tendon repair, and designations were not given for Nuñez or Kelly.

Reks yet to make impact with Dodgers

Reks returns to Oklahoma City one week after he was recalled as the corresponding move to Yefry Ramirez getting optioned.

Reks has only appeared in six games (two starts) thus far, is yet to collect a hit and has seven strikeouts over 10 plate appearances.

When Reks first joined the Dodgers in late June, he was in the midst of having reached base safely in 30 of 31 starts for OKC, and ranked in the top four of the Triple-A West in doubles, runs scored and on-base percentage (.445).

Overall with OKC this season, Reks is batting .312/.409/.583 with 18 doubles, 12 home runs and 38 RBI in 53 games.
