The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed Anthony Bemboom (from Los Angeles Angels) and Conner Greene (Baltimore Orioles) off waivers on Monday. Danny Duffy and Clayton Kershaw were both transferred to the 60-day injured list in order to make room for Bemboom and Greene on the 40-man roster.

Bemboom was designated for assignment by the Angels when they claimed Chad Wallach off waivers from the Dodgers. L.A. added Wallach on a waiver claim from the Miami Marlins, but he only played in one game for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Bemboom had minimal Major League experience with the Angels over parts of the past three seasons, and he also spent a portion of 2019 with the Tampa Bay Rays as well.

The 31-year-old has only hit a combined .178/.241/.287 with two doubles, four home runs and 11 RBI over 54 career games in the Majors.

Bemboom has enjoyed a more productive 2021 campaign with Triple-A Salt Lake, where he batted .255/.364/.482 with six doubles, seven home runs and 30 RBI over 40 games. Bemboom will report to Triple-A Oklahoma City to provide them with needed catching depth.

Greene allowed six runs in 3.2 innings over three appearances for the Orioles prior to getting designated for assignment this past Saturday. The right-hander — a Santa Monica, California native — was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the seventh round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

The three games Greene pitched in for the Orioles this season was his first time in the Majors. He went 1-3 with a 7.39 ERA in nine games (three starts) with the Orioles’ Triple-A affiliate.

Dodgers injuries

While Kershaw now is not eligible to return until Sept. 5, and Duffy out until at least Sept. 15, the Dodgers are also facing injury concerns with Justin Turner and Mookie Betts.

Turner was removed Sunday due to left groin discomfort and Betts continues to battle through a right hip issue. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts suggested Turner would be unavailable for multiple days.
