First pitch at Great American Ball Park on Sunday was moved up to a 9:10 a.m. PT start. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds were originally slated to play the finale of their three-game series at 10:40 a.m. PT.

Fans with tickets to Sunday’s game can attend like normal despite the earlier start time.

The change was prompted by an expected rain storm to impact the area Sunday afternoon. The Dodgers and Reds played the series opener without issue and Saturday’s game also was on track with a 4:10 p.m. PT start time.

It’s a sixth time this season a Dodgers game has been impacted in the form of being rescheduled or a delay. One of those was due to a colony of bees that gathered behind home plate at Chase Field. First pitch against the Arizona Diamondbacks was delayed nearly two hours.

Meanwhile, there have been three rain delays at Dodger Stadium this season. The first was for only 35 minutes on March 30, then the start time on April 13 was delayed by two hours and 51 minutes, and first pitch on April 14 started 36 minutes late because of rain.

As for the present, the Dodgers have not won a series at Great American Ball Park since the 2022 season. Last year they lost two of three in Cincinnati, with both of their defeats coming in walk-off fashion.

On Friday the Dodgers bullpen squandered a lead in the fifth inning en route to a 9-6 loss. Their offense then went silent Saturday in a 3-1 defeat.

Another Dodgers rain delay?

Sunday’s game not only is in danger of being impacted by inclement weather, but the Dodgers could find themselves in a similar situation for their Memorial Day matchup against the New York Mets.

First pitch at Citi Field is currently scheduled for 1:10 p.m. PT, but thunderstorms are expected throughout the day.
