Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Kyle Hurt was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Month for June of the 2022 Minor League season.

The 24-year-old went 1-1 with a minuscule 0.47 ERA in five starts for High-A Great Lakes, allowing only one run on five hits and collecting 30 strikeouts over 19 innings pitched.

Hurt left three of his five starts with a no-hitter intact, and opposing batters hit a paltry .082 against him.

In 13 overall appearances (11 starts) for the Loons this season, Hurt is 4-2 with a 2.21 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 40.2 innings pitched.

The right-hander was promoted to Double-A Tulsa on July 5. He gave up six runs in three innings of work in his first start with the Drillers.

Hurt was selected by the Miami Marlins in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of the University of Southern California. He was acquired by the Dodgers along with Alex Vesia in a February 2021 trade that sent Dylan Floro to the Marlins.

Hurt adds to Dodgers prospects earning honors

Others in the Dodgers farm system to earn Minor League honors this season include Kenneth Betancourt, Zach McKinstry, Ryan Pepiot, Yefry Ramírez, Jerming Rosario and Jorbit Vivas.

On the Major League level, Cody Bellinger and Freddie Freeman have both earned National League Player of the Week recognition.
