Dodgers News: Vin Scully Appreciation Night Scheduled Sept. 23 Vs. Rockies

The Los Angeles Dodgers recently added Vin Scully Appreciation Night, scheduled for September 23, to their 2016 promotional schedule. Los Angeles will face the Colorado Rockies on the final Friday home game this season.

Individual tickets to that evening’s game are not yet on sale, however tickets to the game can be guaranteed by purchasing an 11-Game Pick ‘Em Plan. More details can be found at dodgers.com/miniplans.

Scully was recently honored with a formal dedication ceremony to rename the portion of Elysian Park Avenue that runs between Sunset Boulevard and Dodger Stadium Way to Vin Scully Avenue.

The Hall of Fame broadcaster in his 67th and final season in the booth. “When you say, ’67 years doing the same job,’ I also think, ‘Sure, sure, but no advancement,’” Scully joked at the ceremony.

The Dodgers are distributing a ‘Vin Scully Avenue t-shirt’ to the first 40,000 fans in attendance on Tuesday, May 10 when they host the New York Mets. Then on Tuesday, Sept. 20, a Scully bobblehead will be distributed to the first 40,000 fans.

Dodgers vice president of ticket sales David Siegel hinted during a luncheon on March 22 that multiple Scully honors were expected to get added to the promotional schedule. “There are a lot of things in the works,” he said. “But, I would definitely say you can look forward to a lot of Vin Scully tributes this season.”
