The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the first 50,000 fans in attendance on Saturday, Sept. 24, will receive a limited edition Vin Scully commemorative coin. The giveaway item was a late addition to the Dodgers’ 2016 promotional and giveaway schedule.

The 39 millimeter solid bronze commemorative coin is minted with an image of Scully with his signature greeting quote on the front and the Dodgers’ established date on the back. The unique coin is delivered in a protective flip pouch with a certificate and will be individually numbered.

Los Angeles is hosting the Colorado Rockies in a four-game series that begins Thursday, Sept. 22, to conclude their final homestand of the regular season. The series is part of what’s been aptly dubbed Vin Scully Weekend.

It begins with Vin Scully Appreciation Night on Friday, Sept. 22, which will include an on-field ceremony with special guests, and opportunities for fans to thank and pay tribute to Scully.

What’s more, Friday Night Fireworks will be set to the top calls from Scully’s career. Fan Appreciation Day, scheduled Sunday, Sept. 25, will feature tributes to Scully throughout the game.

Prior to the weekend’s festivities, Vin Scully Bobblehead Night is being held Tuesday, Sept. 20, when the San Francisco Giants are in town. Bobbleheads will be distributed to the first 40,000 fans in attendance.

Scully is in his 67th and final season with the Dodgers, holding the mark for longest-tenured broadcaster with one team. After calling his final regular season home game on Sept. 25, Scully will join the Dodgers as they close out the year at AT&T Park with a three-game set from Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
