The Los Angeles Dodgers unveiled their 2017 promotional and giveaway schedule, which has 65 of 81 home games assigned a promotion or item. The first is a magnet schedule on Monday, April 3, which is Opening Day at Dodger Stadium.

That’s followed by a phone charger on April 4 and a replica Fernando Valenzuela jersey April 5. The series against the Padres concludes Thursday afternoon (April 6), which is one of two designated “Business Person Special” dates.

On Saturday, April 15, the annual Jackie Robinson Day throughout baseball, the Dodgers are distributing a replica Jackie Robinson statue.

That same night the organization intends to unveil a statue in Robinson’s honor. The initial plan called for that to take place during the 2016 season.

Another marquee date on the Dodgers promotional schedule is Wednesday, May 3, when the club not only hosts the rival San Francisco Giants, but will also hold a pregame ceremony in honor of Vin Scully.

That presumably will be his inclusion into the “Ring of Honor” at Dodger Stadium that currently features retired jersey numbers. During the ceremony to honor Scully’s final year in the broadcast booth, Dodgers president and CEO Mark Walter hinted at the famed voice being immortalized at Chavez Ravine.

The first 40,000 fans in attendance that evening will receive a not-yet revealed Vin Scully commemorative item.

Among the new promotions the Dodgers are introducing is a series of coins to commemorate “Great Dodger Moments.” The first of eight coins will be distributed Wednesday, April 19, when the Colorado Rockies are in town.

The ever-popular Dodger bobbleheads return, again with 10 on the docket, and the final being distributed Tuesday, Sept. 26, which is the second-to-last home game. Who the bobbleheads will be modeled after has not yet been revealed.
