The Los Angeles Dodgers homestand continues Monday night with the opener of a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Prior to first pitch, which is set for 7:10 p.m. PT, Dodgers legend Steve Garvey will host a Q & A session at the King’s Hawaiian Grill at Dodger Stadium.
The “Way We Were” series features Ron Cey as a special guest, and will be held Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cey and Garvey were Dodgers teammates from 1971-82 and were part of one World Series team.
Cey was selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 1968 Draft. He batted .264/.359/.445 and was a six-time All-Star during his 12 seasons with Los Angeles.
Garvey, taken 13th overall in the same draft, spent 14 seasons with the Dodgers. He hit .301/.337/.459, was an eight-time All-Star, won four Gold Glove Awards and the 1974 MVP over 14 seasons with the Dodgers.
Garvey will continue to host special events at the King’s Hawaiian Grill throughout the season. In addition to the “Way We Were” series, events such as “Grilling with the Garv” and the “Legends Baseball Clinic” will provide fans with an opportunity to interact with the famed first baseman.
The all-new King’s Hawaiian Grill in the left-field plaza replaced Think Blue BBQ. Among the items served are pulled pork sliders made with King’s Hawaiian original sweet rolls, smoked pork nachos, big island lava wings, and the Hawaiian BBQ Dodger Dog.
Plus, the surrounding area of the grill includes group tables meant to serve as a gathering point for fans. The next event scheduled to take place on Friday, May 26 at 5:30 p.m. prior to the game against the Chicago Cubs.
