The Los Angeles Dodgers farm system has drawn plenty of recognition and accolades of late, with Rookie-level Ogden lefty Justin Hoyt among the group as he was named the Pioneer League Pitcher of the Week for Aug. 14-20.

Hoyt was selected by the Dodgers in the 22nd round of the 2017 Draft. He made his MLB debut with the Ogden on June 30, striking out four batters in a scoreless inning out of the bullpen. Hoyt went 1-0 with nine strikeouts against one walk in five innings across two games for the week he was recognized.

On Wednesday, the 22-year-old threw 1.2 scoreless innings and recorded the first save of his career. Overall this season, Hoyt is 1-0 with a 5.48 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 15 games, with 32 strikeouts and 10 walks in 21.1 innings pitched.

The Raptors enter play Thursday with a 14-7 record and in sole possession of first place in the Pioneer League South division standings for the first time this season.

While Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman has traded away notable prospects Willie Calhoun, Jose De Leon, Grant Holmes and Frankie Montas, among others, the organization still has tremendous depth throughout the farm system.
