Since announcing a partnership with Emirates in February 2016 to make them the club’s official airline, the Los Angeles Dodgers have sent a contingent to Dubai on multiple occasions as the deal called for sponsorship of Dubai Little League All-Star Travel Teams, which now go by the Dubai Dodgers.

Adrian Gonzalez and manager Dave Roberts were first to represent the franchise, and last December Chase Utley and Justin Turner paid a visit to Dubai to provide instruction to youth. The honor this year fell to Dodgers legend Orel Hershiser, bench coach Bob Geren and Ross Stripling.

In addition to hosting a clinch at one of the sponsored fields, which included friendly competition and games between the participants, Hershiser, Geren and Stripling signed autographs for the kids.

Like the other groups before them, the Dodgers trio also used the trip to do sight-seeing, which Stripling documented on social media.

As the official airline partner of the Dodgers, Emirates has home plate and foul pole signage, making it the first time advertisements will adorn the foul poles in Dodger Stadium’s history. Additionally, an Emirates Lounge was established and serves as a hospitality space for Emirates and guests.

Emirates first launched services between its hub in Dubai and Los Angeles in 2008 with a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. In 2013, Emirates began flying double-decked A380 aircraft to serve L.A. travelers.

Since July 1, 2016, Emirates has brought a second daily A380 service to Los Angeles, offering a total of 980 seats per day flying from Los Angeles International Airport to Dubai.
