Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman and 2017 National League Rookie of the Year frontrunner Cody Bellinger signed a multi-year partnership with MET-Rx. The sports nutrition company announced the deal Thursday morning.
Bellinger will be featured in MET-Rx social media and public relations initiatives over the course of the partnership. “We are very excited to announce our partnership with Cody, who has quickly established himself as one of the next superstars in professional baseball,” said John Frame, Vice President, Brand Marketing at The Nature’s Bounty Co.
“He joins an elite group of young athletes on our MET-Rx roster who embody the brand’s spirit of never being satisfied with past accomplishments and always being hungry for more. Cody will get the chance to truly bring our ‘hunger for more’ mantra to life when he gets his first taste of October baseball, we look forward to seeing him excel on the national stage.”
Bellinger, a self-described “thin, skinny guy,” began using MET-Rx products this season. He’s particularly fond of the bars. “I was looking for something to help me stay healthy and keep my weight,” Bellinger told DodgerBlue.com.
“I’m glad I did it, they really helped me take training and nutrition to the next level. In the pursuit of a championship and beyond, I’m determined to take my performance, on and off the field, to the next level. I’m confident that MET-Rx and their great lineup of sports nutrition products is the perfect partner to help me do just that.”
Bellinger joins Defensive Rookie of the Year Joey Bosa, NFL running back Leonard Fournette and Miami Heat forward Justise Winslow, among others, as part of Team MET-Rx.
Although the Dodgers rookie has incorporated MET-Rx products into his training regimen, his favorite desert not been thrown to the wayside. “Ice cream is usually right before bed,” Bellinger said.
