Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Alanna Rizzo is being honored by Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) on Thursday evening.

Rizzo will receive the organization’s “HOPE Rising” award for her leadership and innovation in her field while representing the Latina community.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is expected to introduce Rizzo at HOPE’s 26th annual awards dinner at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.

“I am truly honored to be receiving the HOPE Rising Award,” Rizzo said. “When an organization like HOPE, that for 26 years has been working to advance and amplify the voice of Latinas, notices your work and the impact it has on others, it only elevates my commitment to continue to work harder to open the doors for young Latinas that follow in my footsteps.”

Rizzo, a three-time regional Emmy Award winner, completed her second season with the SportsNet LA Dodgers broadcast team in 2015. She previously worked for MLB Network and ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain in Denver.

HOPE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy, and education to benefit all communities and the status of women.
