The Los Angeles Dodgers extended their player development contract with Ogden Raptors through the 2018 season. Ogden is the club’s rookie-level affiliate in the Pioneer League.

The extension is the last of the Dodgers’ five domestic Minor League affiliates to be extended; each is through 2018. Their affiliation with Ogden dates back to 2003, and is the organization’s longest standing partnership.

“We’re happy to extend our partnership with the Dodgers for another two years and are proud to be the longest running affiliate in the Los Angeles organization,” Raptors owner and president Dave Baggott said.

The club was affiliated with the Ogden Dodgers in the Pioneer League from 1966-1973, with Tommy Lasorda managing the first three seasons there, and winning three league titles.

Including this season, the Raptors have qualified for postseason play nine times since 2003. Ogden was eliminated by Orem (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim affiliate) on Sunday, losing Game 3 in 11 innings.

Ogden finished a half-game ahead of Grand Junction (Colorado Rockies) in the second-half standings, while Orem finished in first place in the Pioneer League South standings during the first half of 2016.

Ten current Dodgers passed through Ogden during their time in the Minors, including, Pedro Baez, Jose De Leon, Kenley Jansen, Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Brock Stewart.

Prior to aligning with Los Angeles, the Raptors were Minor League partners with the Milwaukee Brewers from 1996-2002.
