The 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour began Monday morning with a pair of events, including a stop at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in City of Industry.

Staff members from the Dodgers front office, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) and Bank of America employee volunteers spent the day working together to prepare food packages that were going to be used for 3,000 local citizens in need.

“We’re really grateful for you coming out here and joining us,” Dodgers vice president of government and community affairs Kristin McCowan told the assembled group.

“I want to give a shoutout to Karla Maynez, our project manager on this, for all her great work. Thank you so much.”

Dodgers public relations employees, LADF chief executive officer Nichol Whiteman and director of marketing and communications Erin Edwards, along with senior officials from the front office were among those on hand.

Along with assisting in the packaging of food items for those in need, the Dodgers and Bank of America provided the L.A. Regional Food Bank with a $5,000 donation.

“Because we rely so heavily on donated food and volunteerism, this will turn into, in addition what you’re doing today, another 20,000 meals going to the community. That’s tremendous. Thank you so much,” Los Angeles Regional Food Bank president and CEO Michael Flood said.

Simultaneously on Monday morning, Bank of America volunteers were at the Downtown Women’s Center to help prepare lunch and dinner for the those served by the location’s kitchen. The Dodgers donated $5,000 to the center as well.
