The Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting an autograph session on Tuesday in the left field plaza at Dodger Stadium from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m, with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Hall of Fame announcer Jaime Jarrín, Yasmani Grandal, Kenta Maeda and Yasiel Puig signing autographs.
A minimum $10 cash donation will be collected per autograph, with a maximum of two autographs per person. Funds raised will go toward earthquake relief in Ecuador and Japan. Both countries recently suffered catastrophic earthquakes and loss of life.
All proceeds will go to the Red Cross and the Dodgers are matching the total amount raised. Maeda, a native of Tadaoka in the Osaka Prefecture of Japan, spearheaded the fundraising event and Jarrín, a native of Quito, Ecuador, joined to encourage support of his native country.
Maeda is in his first season with the Dodgers, while Jarrín is in his 58th season as the Dodgers’ Spanish-language announcer.
Auto gates open at 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. Fans must hold a ticket to that evening’s game in order to participate in the fundraiser. Fans are encouraged to arrive early.
First pitch between the Dodgers and Miami Marlins is set for 7:10 p.m. Clayton Kershaw and Tom Koehler are the pitching probables for the second of a four-game set. The series marks Marlins manager Don Mattingly’s first return to Dodger Stadium since his departure after the 2015 season.
