The Los Angeles Dodgers were one out away from being swept by the Philadelphia Phillies in a four-game series at Dodger Stadium for only the second time, when Cody Bellinger started a rally and Gavin Lux delivered a walk-off two-run double against former teammate Corey Knebel.

The game-winning hit was a moment of redemption for Lux, as it was his error in the second inning that allowed the Phillies to score four runs. Lux had a routine ground ball go through his legs that broke up the scoreless tie and led to an offensive burst from Philadelphia.

Garrett Stubbs followed with a ground-rule RBI double and Rhys Hoskins added a two-run single. To Michael Grove’s credit, he bounced back to retire the side in order in the third inning and was removed with two outs in the fourth.

Phil Bickford stranded the runner he inherited to close the book on Grove at 70 pitches over 3.2 innings with four runs (all unearned) allowed, and three strikeouts and three walks.

The Dodgers got on the board in the third inning when Mookie Betts hit his second home run in as many games. Max Muncy’s RBI single in the fourth cut the deficit in half, and Betts’ double to score Lux in the eighth inning pulled L.A. within a run.

Knebel retired the first two batters faced in the ninth before Bellinger pulled a triple down the right-field line. Chris Taylor extended the game with a walk and was off the on the pitch to Lux that resulted in the game-winning double.

Dodgers snapped Phillies’ NL West streak

Along with ending their own season-worst four-game losing streak, the Dodgers ended the Phillies’ stretch of consecutive games won against National League West opponents at eight games. It was their longest such stretch against the division since taking 10 in a row during the 1984 season.
