The Los Angeles Dodgers blew a five-run lead but came back in the eighth inning to defeat the San Francisco Giants, 9-6, which extended their winning streak to five games.
Mitch White retired the first eight batters faced before stranding a pair of two-outs walks in the third inning, and he didn’t allow a hit until Austin Wynns’ leadoff single in the sixth. That wound up marking the end of the night for White, who exited with a 5-0 lead.
White’s no-hit bid was aided by Cody Bellinger making a sliding catch, and Trea Turner also doing the same but in foul territory.
The Dodgers quickly jumped out ahead behind Freddie Freeman’s solo home run in the first inning, and a two-out RBI double from Trayce Thompson in the second.

Carlos Rodón was on the verge of stranding two baserunners in the third inning, only for Luis González to lose Justin Turner’s fly ball. It landed behind González in right field for a two-out, two-run double. Alberto then added an RBI double.
Turner’s night came to an end in the bottom of the eighth inning as he was removed due to abdominal tightness.
However, the Dodgers went quiet from their and a string of relief pitchers were not sharp. After Caleb Ferguson retired all four batters faced, Phil Bickford, Alex Vesia and Evan Phillips combined to give up six runs.
But with the Dodgers inching toward a disappointing loss, Gavin Lux pinch-hit for Alberto with one out in the eight inning and started a rally of sorts by sending a double down the third-base line.
Thompson came up with another two-out hit as his RBI triple tied the game, and Betts capped off the big inning with a three-run home run. Betts punctuated his night with a game-ending diving catch in right field.
Billie Eilish takes in Dodgers
The Dodgers played in front of Grammy Award winner Billie Eilish and brother and fellow musician Finneas. They were shown on the Dodger Stadium dance cam between innings.
