Dodgers Highlights: Trayce Thompson Hits Clutch Double & Makes Key Catch; Enhypen Visits Dodger Stadium

The Los Angeles Dodgers opened their homestand with a thrilling 2-1 comeback win against the Miami Marlins, led by contributions from Tyler Anderson, Trayce Thompson and Mookie Betts.

Coming off a tough-luck loss to the Kansas City Royals, Anderson allowed just one run over seven innings. He did his part to keep the game knotted in a scoreless tie until Jerar Encarnacion’s two-out RBI double in the seventh.

While the Dodgers had squandered multiple opportunities throughout the night, they finally managed to get some traction against Marlins starter Jesus Luzardo in the bottom of the seventh inning. Their rally began with Justin Turner’s leadoff single setting the table.

Luzardo struck out Chris Taylor but then was replaced by Steven Okert. He struck out Hanser Alberto, only to then give up a game-tying RBI double to Thompson.

Then in the eighth, Betts’ fly ball to right field dropped and rolled by Brian Anderson for a leadoff triple. Betts finished a home run shy of hitting for the cycle and nearly had the homer in his third at-bat.

Betts scored the game-winning run on a Will Smith ground ball that Jon Berti made a diving stop for but had nowhere to throw as he set up to fire home. Catcher Jacob Stallings had taken a few steps toward first base and left the Marlins without a play at the plate as Betts scored easily.

Thompson put a ribbon on his night with an impressive leaping catch at the wall in center field for the first out of the ninth inning.

Dodgers welcome Enhypen

Friday was Korean Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium and among the special programming was K-pop group Enhypen in attendance. Band members Jake and Jay threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Turner and Alex Vesia.
